Why a gallery as an outpost?
The gallery outpost of progress is directed and founded by Hannes Hofstetter. After living 25 years in the center of Berlin he moved to the smaller village Envie in Italy (Piemonte), where he begins to develop cultural activity far from the urban centers. One of the main principles and credos of the gallery is that the importance of an encounter is not defined by quantity but by quality. Influence and effectiveness of changing idees, creativity, spirit and intellect even between a small number of persons and the consequences for multiplication are not suitable for instant evaluation. Monastries has been usualy not situated in the big cities but have had and have influence. Viva periphery and province, the contact of people is more personal, less anonymous and less superficial.
